Richlam® Waterproofing Products
Bio-Inspired Self-Healing Waterproofing System for Concrete
Richlam® is the structural waterproofing brand of RICHLAM DEVELOPMENT GROUP. Its product portfolio consists of integral waterproofing admixtures, surface-applied crystalline sealing materials, and mortar waterproofing additives. These products are available in both liquid and powder forms and are applied either internally or externally depending on engineering needs. All Richlam® waterproofing solutions are based on the principles of integral waterproofing and self-healing concrete, with the ability to inhibit early cracking and heal microcracks over time.
By actively repairing internal damage, Richlam® enables concrete to remain dense, watertight, and self-sealing—achieving crystalline concrete waterproofing from within the structure. When there are no cracks, there is no leakage. Richlam® makes concrete itself a long-term waterproof barrier. The waterproofing lifespan matches that of the structure. Richlam® products provide permanent crack-healing functionality, capable of automatically repairing cracks from 0.4 to 1.0 mm and building maintenance-free, durable concrete systems.
Developed using bio-inspired self-healing principles, Richlam® materials are formulated with high-activity crystal growth agents, catalytic components, and functional additives. When used in concrete, these components promote deep crystallization waterproofing, effectively sealing pores and capillary networks, reducing porosity, and significantly increasing density and crack resistance. The result is a nearly impermeable concrete structure with comprehensively improved performance. Richlam® solutions are ideal for applications in integral waterproofing, durability enhancement, basement damp-proofing, and concrete repair.

Richlam® Development Group
Pioneers of Bio-Inspired Self-Healing Concrete Technology
Richlam® delivers advanced integral waterproofing systems to clients worldwide. As a global leader in crystalline waterproofing admixtures and self-healing concrete technologies, Richlam® is trusted by engineers, contractors, and developers across diverse industries. Richlam® believes that intelligent concrete will become a future standard in construction. The company is committed to exploring application scenarios for smart concrete and has already introduced commercially mature technologies into real-world engineering.
The Richlam® Technology Center houses two core divisions: the Concrete Laboratory and the Information Technology Studio. Here, engineers and technical experts combine information science with traditional concrete materials to conduct deep research into bio-inspired intelligent concrete, leading the industry into a new era. To date, Richlam® has achieved breakthroughs in the extraction, synthesis, catalysis, and growth control of crystalline self-healing materials, and successfully applied these technologies in numerous global projects. These advancements have reshaped how concrete is viewed—transforming it from a passive building material into one that is self-protecting and long-lasting.

Bio-Inspired Self-Healing Technology
A Breakthrough Comparable to Photolithography in Semiconductors
Richlam® is dedicated to the development of bio-mimetic self-healing concrete and its future applications in intelligent infrastructure. The company has made significant progress in areas such as crack self-diagnosis, thermal regulation, microcrack control, and bio-inspired autonomous healing. These innovations bring life-like behavior to concrete, allowing it to adapt and recover over time. Richlam®’s self-healing system creates maintenance-free concrete structures, where minor cracks no longer require manual intervention—greatly reducing long-term repair costs and delivering substantial economic and social value.
Bio-inspired intelligent materials refer to those capable of sensing environmental conditions and responding accordingly. Such materials simulate biological systems and possess the functions of perception and response. By integrating these capabilities into traditional materials, bio-mimetic intelligent concrete acquires self-regulation, self-diagnosis, and self-repair functionalities. Since Abram first identified the self-healing effect in concrete in 1925, scientists around the world have explored the potential of this phenomenon. Today, only a handful of countries—such as the United States and Japan—have successfully commercialized the technology. Experts consider bio-inspired self-healing concrete to be the first stage of intelligent concrete and the most advanced phase in the evolution of concrete as a material. Its technological significance in the concrete industry is often compared to that of photolithography in semiconductors.

Global Impact of the Richlam® Brand
Delivering Trusted Waterproofing Solutions Worldwide
Richlam® focuses on bio-inspired self-healing concrete technology, providing reliable waterproofing system solutions for global clients. Our mission is to create responsive and intelligent concrete materials that generate greater value for humanity. With this vision, we continue to expand the engineering applications of bio-mimetic self-healing technology. Richlam® has played a vital role in infrastructure worldwide—from bridges, tunnels, and utility corridors to subways, hydropower facilities, seaports, potable water tanks, sewage treatment plants, public buildings, housing developments, premium villas, and waterproofing restoration. Wherever there are critical structures, Richlam® makes an impact.
Known for high performance and verifiable results, Richlam® products meet major international standards including ASTM (USA), CE (EU), UKCA (UK), and CSA (Canada), and have passed independent certification. All Richlam® waterproofing products are VOC-free, non-toxic, and fully compliant with California Proposition 65. They are approved for use in drinking water and food-related concrete structures, and meet international green building standards. Unlike conventional membranes, Richlam® solutions help reduce carbon emissions and support LEED certification, making them a preferred choice for architects, contractors, and developers committed to sustainable, long-life waterproofing.
The Future of Waterproofing with Richlam®
Redefining Waterproofing Through Durable Concrete Innovation
Waterproofing membranes only offer superficial protection—they treat symptoms but not causes. Long-term practice proves that true waterproofing must come from within the concrete structure itself. Yet, cracks and internal defects have long challenged the industry and remained unresolved for centuries. Richlam® provides a breakthrough by enhancing the concrete itself—addressing the root causes of leakage and fundamentally improving performance. Waterproofing is no longer the goal, but a natural outcome of high-quality concrete. This vision is now widely accepted in the global engineering community.
Richlam® applies bio-mimetic self-healing technology to solve waterproofing issues, but its contribution goes far beyond. Its core value lies in improving concrete durability across the board—resisting water ingress, carbonation, chloride and sulfate attack, freeze–thaw cycles, and alkali–silica reactions. According to the American Concrete Institute (ACI), crystalline waterproofing admixtures represent one of the most effective strategies to achieve full lifecycle protection of reinforced concrete. Richlam® is currently expanding its global distributor network as part of its international strategy—offering new partners
