Self-healing concrete contains active compounds that seal cracks automatically when exposed to water. Richlam® uses bio-inspired crystallization to form waterproof barriers inside the concrete, helping prevent corrosion and deterioration.
Crystalline waterproofing refers to admixtures or coatings that grow insoluble crystals inside concrete. These crystals fill microvoids, block capillaries, and create an integral waterproofing barrier that lasts for the structure’s lifetime.
Integral waterproofing works from within the concrete, while membranes are applied externally. Richlam® admixtures eliminate surface failures by creating a built-in waterproof structure that self-heals cracks and densifies concrete.
